Communion & Foot Washing Service
Quarterly Communion & Footwashing is one of the sacred rhythms of our church life together.
For Those Unable to Attend
If you are unable to attend due to health reasons, please email us. We will coordinate with an elder to deliver the communion elements to your home before Sabbath so you can participate with us during the livestream. If you prefer, we can also arrange an in-home communion service.
What to Expect
Communion Sabbath follows a slightly different rhythm than our regular weekly gathering. We begin our service with a short homily and then break out for footwashing. If you have never done footwashing before or are new to our church, reach out to any deacon at the stations, and they will pair you up.
Foot washing locations are available throughout the building, including an accessible option at the front right of the sanctuary. Family, women’s, and men’s rooms are located downstairs. Separate spaces are provided for comfort, but participation is not restricted by gender.
During foot washing, we ask that the sanctuary remain quiet for prayer and reflection, with conversations moved to the lobby.
After everyone returns, we will share in communion together. Please hold the bread and wine until everyone has been served. The service concludes with a hymn and benediction.
p.s. If you are shy and wish not to wash your feet, we get it. You can still take part in communion.
